Dr. Dorothy Strickland
Dr. Strickland holds the
Samuel DeWitt Proctor Chair in Education at Rutgers University. She is a past
president of the International Reading Association (IRA) and the l998 recipient
of the National Council of Teachers of English Award as Outstanding Educator in
the Language Arts. She has numerous publications in the field of
reading/language arts, including Teaching Phonics Today, Beginning Reading
and Writing, and Supporting
Struggling Readers and Writers.
