When you become a member of NYSEC, you receive:
- Quarterly issues of the NYSEC newsletter, that provides the most up-to-date information regarding changes in state standards and assessments
- Subscription to The English Record, a journal that is written by and for English teachers. Each issue explores new teaching techniques, describes classroom success stories, and provides book reviews designed to help motivate and encourage English teachers at every level
- The Monograph, a bi-annual extended journal that focuses on timely topics relevant to the changes and challenges English teachers face
- The support of an extended network of English teachers from across the state. NYSEC's Board of Directors is comprised of English teachers from every region of the state, and they meet with representatives from the New York State Education Department on a regular basis to voice concerns and discuss the issues that are important to the membership.
