Building Trustworthy Writing Communities: A Culture of Care

May 7, 2022, 9-10:45am

Presented by NYSEC President-elect Chris Mazura with Capital District Writing Project teacher consultants Matthew Pinchinat, Christina Pepe, and Alicia Wein.

This session will consider how leaning into the inventive arts writing process can be a bridge to building trustworthy writing communities. We will also examine how moments of collaboration inside and outside our classrooms have fortified a Culture of Care to support student learning. Visual art and writing by students and teachers from the Freedom Dreaming Institute will be featured.
