Please join NYSEC for the fifth workshop in our 2022-2023 virtual professional development series, “Writing Home.”

The first step towards being an anti-racist educator must be inward; we have to start with ourselves. And writing can be the conduit for transformative learning to begin. During this session we will consider our own positions in racism and antiracism by reading and reflecting on mentor texts. Then, we’ll use mentor texts to do our own writing and explore ways we can do some of this work with our students.

Presenter: Michele DeVirgilio
